Bio

James McCaffrey recently completed production on the Jonathan Demme directed Untitled Susannah Grant Pilot, starring Patrick Wilson and Julie Benz.

A native New Yorker, born and raised in Albany, James McCaffrey attended the University of New Haven where he studied Fine Arts. James began acting in Boston, to rave reviews in a controversial stage production of Electra: A Central American Tragedy (Orestes). Upon moving to NYC, he became a proud member of The Actors Studio, studying and working in several productions. James started his own theatre company, The Workhouse Theatre in Tribeca. Off-Broadway productions: The Scape, The Florentine, Lovers & Madmen, In Ten Cities and Gross Points with Alec Baldwin.

James ended his run this year as a series regular on all seven seasons of the hit FX series “Rescue Me”. Other television credits include the lead in NBC’s “Viper” and “Swift Justice” for Dick Wolf Productions. Guest appearances in “Blue Bloods”, “Civil Wars”, “New York Undercover”, “Law And Order: SVU”, “Law And Order: Criminal Intent”, “Hack”, “Beautiful People”, “Sex and the City” and “Canterbury’s Law”. James has also starred in several movies of the week including, Switched At Birth with Rosanna Arquette and The Pregnancy Pact for Lifetime.

Notable film roles are The Truth About Cats And Dogs opposite Uma Thurman, Hotel Shanghi, American Splendor, The Tic Code, Distress, Spike Lee’s She Hate Me, Hide & Seek, Meskada, and the just completed independent feature Compliance.

James also provides the voice of Max Payne in the blockbuster Max Payne video game series for Rockstar Games.
