The state of Georgia has enacted a number of new laws aimed at protecting children. These new laws are part of the Growing our Children's Act, which is a multifaceted effort designed to improve the lives of Georgia's youth. The first new legislation that was recently passed in Georgia is a tax break that allows parents who operate businesses that offer home care services for children to claim an income tax deduction. This tax reduction, according to Georgia Rep. Jack Westerman, R-Unionville, is meant to encourage more parents to start a Home Care Service for Kids organization.
